The Roam Challenge!

Busting boundaries

This has been the season of adventure for Daniel and me! Daniel’s always traveling crazy places and doing amazing things, but I feel like I’ve kind of joined in this year. We’ve been grateful to be able to see Tanzania in Africa, The Galapagos Islands and near Mt. Chimborazo in Ecuador, and now we are headed off to Israel! We are going to walk where Jesus walked! BAHHHH!!!! 

This year, I also feel like I’ve grown so much culturally. I’ve truly enjoyed meeting new people, trying new foods, and speaking a few words in other languages. I haven’t felt timid and shy, but more just real deep down love and compassion for all of the people I’ve met.

I know that this isn’t a love I have just to have – it’s a love from the Holy Spirit. He has given me a new heart for people, serving them, and sharing my smile with them. I love how He gives us such awesome gifts! Think about the gifts he’s given you. I guarantee they are there to help love other people and serve them well.

So, roam if you want to – roam around the world.

Or go across the street or to a different part of town. Try a new restaurant. Hop on a train to Chicago, and while doing that find some new people to interact with! Listen in your heart for that little nudge to go say hi or smile at a stranger. You might even start up a conversation. See if it changes you. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt it will! We’ll call it the ROAM CHALLENGE! I’d love to hear feedback of how the Holy Spirit works through simple interactions in your lives.
