The Grass Is Always Greener…

If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that
Change

It’s beginning to look a lot like spring around the Michiana area, and I got to mow my yard for the first time yesterday! (I love mowing the yard…it’s a great place for me to think and pray away from distractions!) As I rode my little zero turn up and down the yard, working to get those perfect diagonal stripes, I looked across the road at my neighbor’s lawn.

It was so green and lush and full.

“How do they do that!?” I thought to myself. “How is their grass looking so gorgeous while I’m over here looking at my lawn with dead spots and weeds throughout?!”

Well, I soon remembered that my neighbor is a lawn guy. He literally sprays for weeds, mows lawns, landscapes, trims trees, and anything else outdoorsy you can imagine.

He takes care of his yard. He waters it; he sprays for weeds. He probably even talks to the grass and tells it how beautiful it is, so it will grow to be full and confident. πŸ˜‰

My point today is this: The grass isn’t always greener on the other side; it’s greener where you water it. -Neil Barringham

If I want grass that is full and lush without weeds, I’m going to have to do some work to get it to that place.

You get where I’m going with this. Be willing to put in the work for your life to be rich and full like it’s your job! Decide that you will trust God instead of worry today. Be the one to invite someone to coffee instead of wishing someone would invite you. Open your Bible and ask God to give you encouragement instead of wondering if He’s going to show up today.

It’s your yard. Water it well. “I came that you would have LIFE and have it to the FULL.” -John 10:10

And if you live in the area and need someone to take care of your yard for you, I know a guy. πŸ™‚

This is just the soundtrack of our life.
